BEST Community Development, in partnership with Sports Central, Ballarat Netball Association and Netball Victoria have combined forces to create the Netball Pathways Program.This program aims to address the barriers for people with a disability and create a safe and supportive environment where people with a disability can participate in sport. At the conclusion of the skills development program it is hoped that participants can form a new team, join the mainstream netball competition or join the disability specific competition that Ballarat Netball Association has been running for over 20 years.
To date, the program has been extremely well patronised with many people attending and learning netball skills and making new friends. The second program will begin on Friday 10 February 2012 and will run for eight weeks at the Ballarat Netball Association (Llanberris facility).
