Salary Packaging
A salary packaging scheme is available to employees. The scheme, which utilises the Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) tax status, enables employers to access certain approved fringe benefits as tax exempt up to a specified limit. The type of benefits that can be included in the employee’s salary package, how the benefits are treated for taxation purposes and the administrative arrangements that apply are regulated. The legislation may change from time to time.
Bonus days
Four Christmas bonus closure days shall be taken during the Christmas/New Year period. You will receive payment for these days in addition to any other leave that is taken. Part-time employees will receive bonus day payment if the bonus day falls on their normal day of work.
Professional development
A professional development allowance is allocated per year. In addition, consideration will be given to professional development leave if it 'value adds' to the organisation.
Early eligibility for long service leave
Staff at BEST Community Development are able to access pro-rata long service leave after five years continuous service.
Health & Fitness Subsidy program
We reimburse 50% of fees up to a total of $150 per year, on health and fitness programs, such as gym memberships, massage, weight loss or quit programs, sporting club memberships, glasses etc.
Sick Leave Bank
The purpose is to provide eligible staff with an emergency pool of sick leave days to help during a time of serious and/or long term illness or injury. Staff can voluntarily donate 2 days per year to the Bank.
Staff
Recognition program
We formally recognise continuous service of staff for 5, 10, 15, 20 years (and so-on), with store vouchers and a letter or certificate from our CEO and the Board Chairperson.
Staff Exchange program
We give staff the opportunity to work in a different department to their own, either for further development and training or just to give an insight into how other departments work.
Flu Vaccination program
All staff are given the opportunity to have the flu vaccination annually, free of charge.
