Executive Team

The Executive Team is lead by our Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who works closely with the team to ensure BEST Community Development (BEST CD) delivers on its organisational objectives and strategic plan. This team brings together a wealth of experience from both within the not for profit sector as well as valuable commercial experience.

Philip Murphy - Acting CEO /General Manager Strategic Partnerships & Business Development

Philip joined BEST CD in January 2011 as Manager Strategic Partnerships and Business Development. Philip has a wealth of knowledge and experience in developing new business and establishing strategic partnerships. Philip previously worked in the financial services sector as a senior executive holding a number of leadership roles in Australia as well as nine years of international experience based in Asia and the UK. Philip is committed to continue to work with the broader community to develop solutions that will work to address social and community needs in the many markets and sectors that BEST CD is represented.


Bruno Tassone - General Manager Employment & Disability

Bruno joined BEST CD as General Manager Employment & Disability Services in June 2011. Bruno has over 15 years employment services management experience in contracts, operations and partnerships. In addition Bruno has also undertaken significant work in business enterprise development and delivery. Bruno has cross sector experience in Job Services Australia and Disability Employment Services having previously worked for Scope, Centacare and AMES in Melbourne metropolitan areas. Bruno has also led successful tender bids in both JSA and DES services. He also sits on a Board involved with Community Health Services.

Andrew Henwood - Chief Financial Officer

Andrew oversees the Finance, ICT and Property operations of BEST CD and its joint venture company BESTCDG Pty Ltd. Joining BEST CD in 2004, Andrew gained hands on knowledge of the Employment Contracts working as an Employment Consultant for three years before joining the Finance team in 2007 as a Financial Accountant. A graduate of the Leadership Ballarat and Western Region (LBWR) program in 2009, Andrew is an active member in the community as the Treasurer for The Ballarat Arts Foundation and Board Member of The Ballarat National Theatre.





Kylie Lang - General Manager - People & Culture

Joining BEST CD in May 2008, Kylie has held positions as HR Consultant, HR & Communications Coordinator and most recently Manager HR and Communications. Kylie is a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), and is a recent graduate of the Leadership Ballarat and Western Region (LBWR) program. Kylie supports the CEO and executive team by providing strategic human resource advice and guidance that contributes to the overall effectiveness of the organisation and is responsible for managing various communication activities that promote the BEST CD brand across the region.
